Earth

How much natural beauty do we willingly ignore and fail to recognize as artistically powerful? This was the question I came to ask myself when stopping to acknowledge all that surrounds us, beyond just a momentary interaction. Suddenly, I found myself staring at rocks, the effects of erosion, and the general behavior of natural elements and occurrences. I decided to craft works of art that served as interpretations of earth's intricacies, which we often overlook when focused on all else. Aside from the attempts to replicate natural textures by hand, the sense of movement and mixing of hues in these pieces was made possible by inviting nature to play a role in crafting them. Letting water take control, guiding the painting to its own organic conclusion became critical. I have redefined the notion of artistic collaboration. I controlled the process, while nature controlled the result.
